The company will have to sponsor the H1 in full. Not enough to just give you an employment verification letter.
Also as per the rules, you cannot pay for the H1. Only the company can pay for it.

Quick question.
I am going to re-new my h-1b for the next 3 years.. What are the steps to follow??
Any one that all ready this step pls advised.
-Do I need to fill out a Labor form again or just I-129 to USIC ???

Moonlight, I am in a similar situation as you except that the person involved here is my spouse and the country of birth is srilanka and it is india in all her documents...i have done some research and found some interesting points for my scenario.May be we both can share info and help each other. you can mail me at nath4u@gmail.com. Always look at last action taken by the USCIS. If USCIS approved your H-1B for employer D, and attached I-94, that means that as long as you are working for employer D at this time and at the time you extend and re-stamp your H-1b visa, there should be no problem. Make sure you take W-2s and Tax returns from previous years you were in H-1B status when you go for a new Visa Stamp.

In the last days, I have realized that we have something in common with the first Pilgrims that came to America, we also have a lot in common with all the immigrants that arrived last century to the Ellis Island, and that is the same COURAGE and values to go after our dreams giving the best of ourselves for this country and for our families.
Based on what we did this last month dont you think that we need to take action to do something to make possible an increase on the GCs quota?.
I'd like to use this forum to generate all together as a team great Ideas to show that we are a positive agent of succes for America. The idea of the flowers was marvelous but I think is time to move forward, some new ideas could be:
- Pay a TV commercial showing that we (America) need diversity, need talented Immmigrants to maintain their leadership in the world.
- Post ads in the news papers (WSJ, NY times, Washington Post etc) with the same message.
- I read the blog of Greg Siskind he is doing something great mentioning oustanding immigrants on daily basis, why dont we do the same?
- Attend all senator meetings and speech and have smart and pacific members of IV in all of them showing the message?
I THINK WE CAN DO IT, we are the owners of our future, we are the only really interested in have our GCs, I dont see the USCIS, Lou Dobbs, or USANET interested in see something positive about us.
Please lest post our ideas, and together as a team as the new America immigrants lets look for our future. America is the land where everything is possible I DO BELIEVE IN AMERICA SAME AS THE PILGRIMS AND I THINK YOU ALL BELIEVE THE SAME THATS WHY WE ARE HERE AND why WE READ THIS FORUM...

Dont waste time. Fill the FOIA form whatever you can only for "140 approval notice" (one page). They will use those info and send you the approval letter. It may take 1-3 months. At least you can give a shot. If you get it then resubmit FOIA with the A#. FYI- you can not fill two request same time. Once one is completed then you can send second one.

Hi folks, i am in urgent situation and need your advice.
My 6-year H1B expires by end of April 2011 and I am quitting my job by the end of March and changing my status to H4. My I-140 has been approved, I-485 not submitted. Now I only have 1 month left in the 6-year H1B period and am in H4 after March, can I find a new employer to apply for H1B for me, using the 1 month? If yes, can the new employer apply for a 3-year H1B visa?
any comments/advices would be appreciated.

Well, I finally got a hold of an actual human on the main USCIS number. They confirmed only that the office is open on Fridays for appointments. That means I am hitting the road to Milwaukee.
Thanks for the help. I determined that the website has different info for ASC and what is called the Field Office. Unfortunately, it's not clear and led to my confusion. Hope it all works out. Thanks again. JAFO.

I have my green card interview end of this month in Indianapolis. Not sure why I was called for interview at this time as I have a EB3 India case with a PD of June 2007. I am a july 2007 filer. I was wondering if someone can recommend me a good immigration lawyer around Indianapolis to accompany us for the interview.
I recently used my EAD and moved to Indianapolis. Not sure if that triggered the interview. Any genuine help would be appreciated.
