Bleaching Hair with Hydrogen Peroxide

Things You'll Need
  • 3% Hydrogen Peroxide Solution
  • Spray Bottle
  • Conditioner
Procedure

Step 1
Get a thorough hair wash to make your tresses free of oil or any deposits of other styling products. Wash them with a shampoo followed by a conditioner.

Step 2
Let you hair dry naturally. Avoid blow drying. Make it free of knots and tangles with a wide toothed comb. The comb should easily move through the length of your hair.

Step 3
After brushing properly, section off your hair using a comb and hold these sections in place using the claw clips. You can either have highlights or lighten the entire volume of your tresses.

Step 4
Take a new spray bottle and fill it with a 3% hydrogen peroxide solution. Make sure that bottle is be completely clean and dry.

Step 5
Work section by section. Unpin one section and spray the solution of hydrogen peroxide on that section of your hair. Then proceed with the next section. Once you finish spraying solution on all the sections, let it set on your hair for about 30 minutes.

Step 6
Rinse the hair thoroughly with cool water followed by deep conditioning your locks. Now, let your hair dry naturally and see the result.

Step 7
Though the results vary from person to person, the final shade of blonde depends upon the initial color of your hair. The results will be much visible on light colored hair as compared to that on dark colored hair.

Step 8
Well, in case you haven't got the desired results, just repeat the process after a few days to have a lighter shade. But, always remember that too much of chemicals are not good for your hair.

Step 9
Massage your locks with a good hair oil to retain healthy hair. Also, ensure that you use a specially formulated shampoo and conditioner for colored hair.

Lemon Method for Bleaching Hair

Apply fresh lemon juice on your hair. You can dilute the juice with water if your hair is already rough or dry. Once you cover the entire length of hair, let it dry for about half an hour. Now, go outdoors and expose your hair to sun rays for about 30 minutes. Don't expose your hair to sunlight more than 30 minutes and leave the lemon juice in your tresses for two days. Rinse your hair to see the results. This is a popularly used method to bleach hair at home without use of any harsh chemicals.

Chamomile Method for Bleaching Hair

If you have blonde or light brown colored hair, chamomile tea is a great ingredient for adding highlights in them. All you need is brewing a cup of strong chamomile tea. Fill it in a spray bottle and spray it on your hair in the way as mentioned above for bleaching hair with hydrogen peroxide. Once you finish spraying it on your hair, expose you hair to sun rays and later rinse them properly.
